Mac OS X v10.4 MailOperating System: Mac OS X v10.4E-Mail Configuration: Learn how to set up your HGE.net e-mail account using Apple's Mac OS X v10.4 Mail application.
- Open the Mail application
- Click the Mail menu bar item at the top of the screen and select Mail Preferences from the list provided
- Click the plus (+) button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen
- For Account Type, choose POP
- For Account Description, type your desired description
- For Full Name, enter your name
- For Email Address, enter your entire HGE.net email address including "@hge.net"
- Choose Continue at the bottom of the screen
- For Incoming Mail Server, enter pop3.hge.net
- For User Name, type your enter HGE.net email address including "@hge.net"
- For Password, type your HGE.net password
- Choose Continue at the bottom of the screen
- Check the box indicating to "Use Secury Sockets Layer (SSL)"
- Choose Password from the Authentication drop down menu
- For Outgoing Mail Server, enter stmp.hge.net
- Check the box indicating to "Use authentication"
- For User Name, re-enter your HGE.net email address including "@hge.net"
- For Password, type your HGE.net password
- Choose Continue at the bottom of the screen
- Check the box indicating to "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)"
- Choose Password from the Authentication drop down menu
- Choose Continue at the bottom of the screen
- The Account Summary should list all of the changes that were made during your process. If it does not, choose Go Back at the bottom of the screen and correct the issue. Otherwise, choose Continue at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose Done at the bottom of the screen. You may close the Mail Preference window
